Atavistic Projects

Atavistic is a record label and production house that started in Columbus Ohio in 1985 with a music video shoot (complete with the first VHS portable camcorder) of Sonic Youth on their Bad Moon Rising tour.

There were many late nights shooting bands in smokey clubs, and given that MTV had only launched 4 years prior, we shot videos that eventually ended up on the channel. Here are two examples:

Following the band in a bus for a week in 1992 as they launched their to-become Platinum record, Meantime, we recorded this EPK as part of the final release.
